If you are planning to run your Ad campaign online, then, it is mandatory to have landing pages published through your custom domain.
This is one of the basic requirements for running Ads in almost all Ad platforms including Google, Meta, Bing, etc.
Let me show you how you can add your custom domain in Swipe Pages.
Step 1: Click on the domains tab.
Step 2: Click on the 'Add New Domain' button.
Step 3: Add your domain name and click the Next button.
Here is the correct format for adding your domain name:
Say, for example, your website address is https://www.sampledomain.com
In the domain name field, you have to add only this: sampledomain.com
Step 4: Now, add the subdomain name and press the Next button
Here is the correct way of adding the subdomain name:
Say, for example, your website address is https://www.sampledomain.com
You want to use the word 'promo' as a subdomain.
Just type in the word promo in the subdomain field. That is all.
Caution: Please do not type something like https://, / or any other characters on the sub-domain field.
Important Note: If you are looking to connect your root/naked domain with Swipe Pages (eg: www.yourwebsite.com ) then please follow the instructions in this article.
Step 5: Copy the Hostname and 'Point To' Value shown in this step. Then, click the Next button.
Finally, click the Finish button.
Once you click finish, you will see the added domain like this with the 'PENDING' status.
To complete this process and to connect your domain with Swipe Pages, you have to go to your DNS manager and add a new CNAME record.
You will have to create a CNAME record using the hostname and 'Point To' value that you copied earlier.
The hostname will be the subdomain that you provided in the earlier step.
'Point To' value would be provided by us. You have to copy the 'Point To' value and use that to create the CNAME record.
Please note that the 'Point To' value is unique for your domain and is case-sensitive. So, copy the exact value as provided and create your CNAME record.
Once you have added the new CNAME record in your DNS records, you have to wait anywhere between a couple of hours up to a maximum of 72 hours for the DNS propagation to complete.
This wait time is totally dependent on your DNS manager and how fast your DNS manager propagates this record in their servers across the globe.
After a couple of hours, access the domain and click on the Connect button adjacent to the newly added domain.
If the DNS propagation is complete, then, you can see that status getting changed to “CONNECTED”.
This CONNECTED status means that your domain is now connected with Swipe Pages and you will now be able to publish pages to your domain
